Bethesda Book Centre, from its onset in September 1969, had set its aim to be an effective Christian bookshop both in its outlook and the books it distributes. That it is still effectively a Christian bookshop after more than 3 decades, is testimony to the Lord's goodness in helping it to stay on course.

It took the Book Centre as many years to mature as a Ministry (of Bethesda Katong Church) but in a fast changing and often volatile circumstances, commitment by its staff to remain true to its mission - To spread the Living Word through the printed word.

The Book Centre is known for its conservative outlook in its selection of books, especially in its reference section although it is not without some with "controversial" leanings but these are usually confines to the academic titles. Other than the reference section , there are books suitable titles for all ages, both in variety and selection.
